4 MAJOR THINGS YOU NEED TO PLAN WAY IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

Wedding planning is a delicate balance; there are some things you can wait until the month before the wedding to take care of, and there are other things that need to be done as soon as possible. Unless you have some crazy time restrictions (military situations, ill family member, etc.), you should make sure to give yourself at least 12 months to plan your wedding. Here are some of those things you need to plan right when you get engaged.

Your venue

The availability of your venue is going to dictate your wedding date. If you had your heart set on the first Saturday in June and it’s already taken, then you have to change your date (or your venue). After you get engaged, booking a venue is the first thing you should do. Popular wedding venues tend to book up a year or more in advance, so start looking!

Your photographer

Photographers are busy, especially during the peak of wedding season. They need a lot of notice to be able to secure your date. If you wait until the last minute, you might have to ask a family friend who can’t take pictures like a professional can. Plus, the extra time allows for an engagement session so you can get to know your photographer.

Your dress

You’re probably going to try on a ton of dresses before you find the right one, so give yourself plenty of time to try on different styles so you’re completely happy. Plus, it can take up to 10 months for a wedding dress to come in after it’s been ordered, so keep that in mind.

Your luxury transportation services

Finally, you need to start looking for luxury transportation services as soon as you know your wedding date. This is especially true if you’re getting married during the popular wedding season or prom season. Nearly 60% of limousine companies are small and have fewer than five vehicles. Wedding limos book up fast, so lock yours in as soon as you can.
